So we were all ready to go out fishing. The rods, the spinners, the reels, the line were all ready. Even the dog was ready. Our fishing tackle boxes were loaded and the sandwiches were made.
Then one car broke down. Never mind. A quick change into my friends car and we are ready to go.
And that car was also on the blink.
One of my more frustrating fishing trips ever. Specially as I had not only been looking forward to it for a long time, I was desperate for day out by the river and away from it all.
Still it is one of the first things we learn as anglers - patience.
They say silence is golden - it is patience that is golden and is surrounded by a silver lining.
Next week we'll try again.
